Consumer/Family Satisfaction Teams (C/FST)

History

In the Spring of 1996, Northumberland County knew they had a need for a Consumer Satisfaction Team (CST). The Mental Health Administrator gathered several Mental Health Consumers together and had weekly meetings to discuss what was going to be needed to start a CST. By Spring of 1997, CST of Northumberland County started our first surveys of 7 to 10 questions.

In 2007, CST because a Consumer/Family Satisfaction Team (C/FST), joining with Parent to Parent Connections to facilitate recovery and resilience focused teams whose purpose is to assess adults’ and adolescents’ levels of satisfaction with the services they receive.

Our mission is to monitor and advocate for Mental Health individuals to improve services and to insure a better quality of life.

Goals of the Consumer/Family Satisfaction Team:

‣ To help consumers be a part of the services in which they participate.

‣ To help consumers monitor services and shape them based on their need.

‣ To provide consumer advocacy. The team has access to the administration of the program to resolve issues/conflicts, as well as the county office. The chain of command must be followed at all times.

‣ To provide an opportunity for discussion within each program regarding the activities and operation of the program-what needs to improve or be adjusted.
